This Privacy Policy explains how ZY App Studio ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and discloses your information when you use the 成语接龙 mobile application (the "App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including the Malaysian Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) 2010 and international privacy standards.
1. Information We Collect
App Configurations & Game Progress (Local Storage): Your custom settings—such as game difficulty levels (AI strength), saved game states, board and piece themes, move history, local board records (PGN/XQF notations), sound/music toggles, and offline play preferences—are stored locally on your device using local storage (SharedPreferences).
Network & App Data: The App requires internet access to support online matchmaking, update leaderboards, load daily chess puzzles, stream engine evaluation data, and fetch supplementary endgame tutorials. The App does not link your moves, gameplay statistics, or match history to your personal identity.
Device Permissions: With your explicit consent, the App may request access to:
Location Access (GPS) [Optional]: If enabled, approximate location data may be used strictly to match you with nearby players for regional matches or display local leaderboards. Important: Location checks are processed exclusively in real time on your device. We do not log, store, track, transmit, or sell your location history to any external server or third party.
Network Access: Required strictly to enable online multiplayer matches, stream engine calculation updates, download puzzle assets, and synchronize global leaderboards.
Diagnostic & Usage Data: We may automatically collect non-personally identifiable technical data (e.g., anonymous crash reports, device model, operating system version, and engine analysis latency) to help us identify bugs, optimize AI calculation performance, and improve app stability.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the processed data strictly to:
Provide Core Functionality: Deliver offline AI play modes, online player-vs-player matchmaking, interactive Xiangqi endgame puzzles, real-time board analysis, and move notation rendering.
Personalize Your Experience: Save your ongoing match progress, bookmarked game records, player rating, and visual board preferences locally on your device so you do not lose your place when relaunching the App.
Maintain & Improve Services: Analyze anonymous crash reports and hardware performance metrics to optimize AI engine move generation speed, lower battery usage, and release performance updates.
3. Disclosure of Your Information
We do not sell, rent, trade, or broadcast your personal data, match history, or gameplay habits. We may share non-sensitive technical information only in the following limited circumstances:
Service Providers: Trusted third-party diagnostic and matchmaking infrastructure vendors that help us host online games, analyze crash reports, and optimize server latency.
Legal Requirements: If required to do so by applicable laws, valid legal processes, or enforceable governmental requests.
Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of company assets, anonymized diagnostic performance metrics may be transferred as part of business operations.
4. International Data Transfers
If cloud-based servers, matchmaking services, or content delivery networks (CDNs) are utilized for online play, non-personally identifiable performance logs, match queuing data, and leaderboard rankings may be transferred to and stored on secure servers globally. By using the App, you consent to the transfer of non-sensitive technical data to these secure infrastructure providers.
5. Your Privacy Rights & Controls
Under applicable privacy laws, including the Malaysian PDPA, you maintain full control over your device data:
Data Reset & Deletion: Since your app preferences, saved games, puzzle progress, and match history are saved locally on your device, you can reset or clear them at any time directly within the App settings or by clearing the App's storage via your device settings (Settings > Apps > 成语接龙 > Storage > Clear Storage).
Permission Management: You can grant, revoke, or modify Location or Network permissions at any time via your device settings (Settings > Apps > 成语接龙 > Permissions). (Note: Revoking Network permission will disable online matchmaking, leaderboards, and daily puzzle updates).

We implement industry-standard technical and operational security measures to protect your gameplay data and ensure offline calculations remain private. Because location data is evaluated locally and user preferences are never stored on remote servers without necessity, your digital privacy remains securely on your device.
