This Privacy Policy explains how ZY App Studio ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and discloses your information when you use the Golden Hour mobile application (the "App"). 1. Information We Collect

  • App Configurations & Preferences (Local Storage): Your custom settings—such as saved phrase categories, learning progress, UI themes (Dark/Light mode), offline audio preferences, and bilingual display settings—are stored locally on your device using local storage (SharedPreferences).

  • Network & App Data: The App requires internet access to stream or download phrase audio files, fetch real-time translation updates, and access supplementary learning materials. The App does not link your usage, search history, or phrase lookups to your personal identity.

  • Device Permissions: With your explicit consent, the App may request access to:

    • Location Access (GPS) [Optional]: If enabled, location data may be used strictly to recommend relevant travel phrase categories (e.g., airport navigation, hotel check-in, or restaurant dining) based on your current country or region. Important: All location checks are processed exclusively in real time on your local device. We do not log, store, track, transmit, or sell your location history to any external server or third party.

    • Network Access: Required strictly to stream high-quality audio files, load cloud dictionary assets, and fetch app content updates.

  • Diagnostic & Usage Data: We may automatically collect non-personally identifiable technical data (e.g., anonymous crash reports, device model, operating system version, and performance metrics) to help us identify bugs, optimize audio playback responsiveness, and improve app stability.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the processed data strictly to:

  • Provide Core Functionality: Deliver English learning modules, stream travel scenario audio clips, render bilingual (Chinese/English) text, and assist with real-time situational communication.

  • Personalize Your Experience: Save your learning progress, bookmarked phrases, and display preferences locally on your device so you do not lose your place when relaunching the App.

  • Maintain & Improve Services: Analyze anonymous crash reports and hardware performance metrics to optimize asset download speeds, reduce storage footprint, and release system updates.

3. Disclosure of Your Information

We do not sell, rent, trade, or broadcast your personal data or usage habits. We may share non-sensitive technical information only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service Providers: Trusted third-party diagnostic vendors (such as automated crash-reporting tools) that help us diagnose app crashes and optimize stability.

  • Legal Requirements: If required to do so by applicable laws, valid legal processes, or enforceable governmental requests.

  • Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of company assets, anonymized diagnostic performance metrics may be transferred as part of business operations.

4. International Data Transfers

If cloud-based diagnostic, analytics, or content delivery networks (CDNs) are utilized, non-personally identifiable performance logs and asset caching data may be transferred to and stored on secure servers globally. By using the App, you consent to the transfer of non-sensitive diagnostic data to these secure infrastructure providers.

5. Your Privacy Rights & Controls

Under applicable privacy laws, including the Malaysian PDPA, you maintain full control over your device data:

  • Data Reset & Deletion: Since your app preferences, bookmarked phrases, and learning history are saved locally on your device, you can reset or clear them at any time directly within the App settings or by clearing the App's storage via your device settings (Settings > Apps > Golden Hour > Storage > Clear Storage).

  • Permission Management: You can grant, revoke, or modify Location or Network permissions at any time via your device settings (Settings > Apps > Golden Hour > Permissions). (Note: Revoking Network permission may prevent online audio streaming or dictionary lookups).

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard technical and operational security measures to protect your learning data and ensure local calculations remain private. Because location data is evaluated locally and user preferences are never stored on remote servers, your digital privacy remains securely on your device.
