This Privacy Policy explains how ZY App Studio ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and discloses your information when you use the CausewayGo - JB SG Traffic mobile application (the "App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including the Malaysian Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) 2010 and international privacy standards.
1. Information We Collect
App Configurations & Preferences (Local Storage):
Your custom settings—such as your preferred vehicle type (Car or Motorcycle), UI themes (Dark/Light mode), and route preferences—are stored locally on your device using local storage (SharedPreferences).
Network & Traffic Data: The App requires internet access to fetch real-time traffic ETAs, calculate toll costs, and stream live camera images from public APIs (such as data.gov.sg). The App does not link your viewing history or route calculations to your personal identity.
Device Permissions: With your explicit consent, the App may request access to:
Location Access (GPS) [Optional]: If enabled, location data may be used strictly to determine your proximity to the Causeway or 2nd Link for faster route recommendations. Important: All location calculations are processed exclusively in real time on your local device. We do not log, store, track, transmit, or sell your location history or movement paths to any external server or third party.
Network Access: Required strictly to download live traffic data and camera feeds.
Diagnostic & Usage Data: We may automatically collect non-personally identifiable technical data (e.g., anonymous crash reports, device model, operating system version, and performance metrics) to help us identify bugs, improve UI responsiveness, and optimize system efficiency.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the processed data strictly to:
Provide Core Functionality: Fetch real-time border congestion data, render live traffic cameras, and calculate optimal routes and toll costs between Johor Bahru and Singapore.
Personalize Your Experience: Save your vehicle type (to provide accurate ETAs) and display preferences (like Dark Mode) locally on your device so you do not have to reconfigure them every time you launch the App.
Maintain & Improve Services: Analyze anonymous crash reports and hardware performance metrics to optimize data consumption, improve image loading speeds, and release system stability updates.
3. Disclosure of Your Information
We do not sell, rent, trade, or broadcast your location or personal data. We may share non-sensitive technical information only in the following limited circumstances:
Service Providers: Trusted third-party diagnostic vendors (such as automated crash-reporting tools) that help us diagnose app crashes and optimize stability.
Legal Requirements: If required to do so by applicable laws, valid legal processes, or enforceable governmental requests.
Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of company assets, anonymized diagnostic performance metrics may be transferred as part of business operations.
4. International Data Transfers
If cloud-based diagnostic or analytics services are utilized, non-personally identifiable performance logs may be transferred to and stored on servers located outside of your state or country. By using the App, you consent to the transfer of non-sensitive diagnostic data to these secure infrastructure providers.
5. Your Privacy Rights & Controls
Under applicable privacy laws, including the Malaysian PDPA, you maintain full control over your device data:
Data Reset & Deletion: Since your app settings and vehicle preferences are saved locally on your device, you can reset or clear them at any time directly within the App settings or by clearing the App's storage via your Android Device Settings.
Permission Management: You can grant, revoke, or modify Location or Network permissions at any time via your device settings (Settings > Apps > CausewayGo - JB SG Traffic > Permissions). (Note: Revoking Network permission will prevent the App from fetching live traffic data).
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard technical and operational security measures to protect your preferences and ensure local calculations remain private. Because any location data is processed locally and user preferences are never stored on remote servers, your digital privacy remains securely on your device.
